HHS - Family Support Services (FSS) Programs

Community-Based Programs

Family Support Services contracts with community-based programs to:

Assist families in achieving self-sufficiency and stability.
Promote healthy outcomes and strengthen support systems for children and families.
Prevent or reduce at-risk behaviors in children.
Support workforce participation.

Program services are free of charge and participation is voluntary. Not all services are available in all Texas communities, and the program doesn't provide housing, transportation or any services outside of the scope contracted by local providers.

Family and Youth Success provides coaching, counseling, and group-based learning for youth and parents.

Fatherhood — EFFECT (Educating Fathers For Empowering Children Tomorrow) provides parent education and resources to fathers.

Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support

Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support (HOPES) provides community-driven initiatives and supports for families with children birth to 5 years old.

Long-Term Youth and Family Support

Long-Term Youth and Family Support program aims to improve outcomes for children at the highest risk of reentering the child protective services system.

Statewide Youth Services Network

Statewide Youth Services Network provides a statewide network to support positive youth development.

Texas Home Visiting

Texas Home Visting provides in-home parent education for families with children birth to 5 years old.

Texas Nurse Family Partnership

Texas Nurse Family Partnership provides nurse home visiting for first-time, low-income families.

Texas Service Members, Veterans, and Families

Texas Service Members, Veterans, and Families provides parenting, education, counseling, and youth development programs for military and veteran families.
