Family Support Services
The Family Support Services program promotes healthy families and communities through:
- Parent education.
- Home visiting programs for parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
- Supporting family caregivers.
- Assisting families in finding resources.
- Youth and family counseling.
- Supporting positive youth development.

Community Services and Child Safety Tips
Family Support Services helps communities identify and meet their needs, enhances local services, and improves existing programs. It also shares tips for keeping children safe.
The program helps families and communities by:
- Promoting healthy outcomes and strengthening support systems for children and their families.
- Assisting families to achieve self-sufficiency and stability.
- Promoting workforce participation.
- Preventing or reducing risk factors that may lead to:
- Child abuse and neglect.
- Juvenile delinquency, running away, truancy, dropping out of school, or substance use.
- Involvement with the child welfare system, juvenile justice system or the criminal justice system.
Family Programs and Resources
Family Support Services manages programs that offer free, voluntary services to families.
The program provides services through contracts with local nonprofits, governments and schools. The program also provides funding and other resources to support local service providers and the families they help.
